3 tea recipes that quickly improve the condition of your hair!

Posted by Crüe Cosmetics on

Tea rinses are known as an old beauty remedy, dating back to ancient times. This practice involves rinsing your hair and scalp with an infusion of tea, as tea is an effective ingredient for healthier hair. It is used to treat the scalp, improve hair color and solve many other hair problems.

What we love most about tea rinses is their simplicity and health benefits for your hair. Since there are so many tea bath recipes out there, we decided to share our three favorites with you to help you get started. Each of these treatments will help rejuvenate your hair, while repairing specific damage.

Black tea against excessive hair loss

This remedy is ideal for people who lose a lot of hair, especially women who lose their hair after childbirth. The main reason for hair loss is a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Black tea contains caffeine which essentially blocks DHT.

Plus, black tea is known to thicken and strengthen hair!

What you need:

  • 3-4 caffeinated black tea bags (we recommend using organic tea)
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • A spray bottle

Manual :

  1. Steep the tea bags and 2 cups of boiling water.
  2. Allow to cool to lukewarm before using.
  3. Cleanse hair with cleansing shampoo or conditioner.
  4. Spray the tea on your scalp and massage your hair.
  5. Cover your hair with a cap, preferably plastic.
  6. Leave on for up to 45 minutes before rinsing off the tea with cold water. You can then use a conditioning conditioner.

Do this treatment every other week for 6 weeks, then take 3 weeks off before resuming it. This tea rinse will noticeably reduce hair loss in the shower. With such remarkable properties, it's no wonder organic black tea is one of the key ingredients in our L'Ör Scalp Serum.

Green tea against dandruff and for hair growth

Green tea is one of our favorite rinses for boosting growth while fighting dandruff. Green tea nourishes your scalp and protects it from dandruff, bacteria, fungus and the sun.

What you need:

  • 2 bags of green tea
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • Spray bottle

Manual :

  1. Brew 2 tea bags and 2 cups boiling water. Let the water cool and add honey.
  2. Cleanse your hair with a cleansing shampoo or conditioner and keep it damp.
  3. Spray the tea mixture on your scalp, massaging it all over your hair.

Cover your hair and leave on for up to 30 minutes before rinsing with cool water.

Chamomile to improve hair color

Chamomile can be used for all hair colors, but it is especially effective for blonde hair.

This tea has soothing effects for the scalp and softening for the hair.

What you need:

  • ½ cup of tea
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • ½ lemon
  • Honey
  • Spray

Manual :

  1. Steep the herbs in 2 cups of boiling water for 45 minutes to an hour.
  2. Filter and let cool before adding lemon and honey.
  3. Spray on clean hair and massage in and rinse out after an hour or two.

Repeat the treatment once a week for optimal results.

Cozying up with a cup of tea after a long day is a great relaxing habit that we could all add to our lives. While we're at it, let's make an extra cup and give our hair some love this season.
